Family Help
Family Support & Early Help at Croxteth Primary
At Croxteth Primary School, we understand that life doesn’t always go to plan. Every family experiences ups and downs, and sometimes you might need a little extra support to help things get back on track.
Family Help (sometimes called Early Help) is about working together to provide that support as soon as a problem emerges. Our goal is to act early to prevent small concerns from becoming bigger challenges.
How We Can Help
We pride ourselves on being a "listening school." Whether it’s a chat over a cup of coffee or a more formal plan of action, we offer various levels of support:
-
Emotional Wellbeing: Our pastoral team work with children on confidence, resilience, and managing feelings using the Zones of Regulation.
-
Attendance & Punctuality: If you are struggling to get your child into school, we can work with you to remove barriers rather than just issuing fines.
-
Practical Support: We can assist with uniform grants, local food bank vouchers, or signposting for housing and benefits advice.
-
Parenting Programs: Access to Liverpool-based courses like Triple P or Incredible Years.
The Family Help Journey
If you feel your family needs more coordinated support, we may suggest a Family Help Assessment.
-
The Conversation: We sit down with you to talk about what is going well and what is worrying you.
-
The Plan: Together, we agree on a plan of action. This is voluntary—you are in the driving seat.
-
The Team: If needed, we coordinate a Team Around the Family (TAF) meeting. This brings together people like school staff, health visitors, or housing officers so you only have to tell your story once.
