Intervention: Numbers Count
Numbers Count is a program that boosts the attainment of a child’s number work. One teacher works with between one and three children in each session. Our Numbers Count teachers are Mr. Gardner and Mr. Robinson. Mr Gardner works with children from years 1 – 3 and Mr Robinson works with children from years 4 – 6. The program is paid for from our Pupil Premium grant.
The children are taken out of class lessons to work with the teacher for 30 - 40 mins every day (if possible).
Each teacher will have between 4 and 6 children on the program at any one time. The program has no set length, but usually takes up to 1 ½ terms.
Children usually move from being low attainers for their age to being average or high attainers. This improvement usually stays with the child for the rest of their time in school.
