When children in our school are learning how to write their digits (numbers) we help them by saying a rhyme for each one.

At Croxteth Primary we view homework as being a supported or independent task which is undertaken outside of the curriculum time and which reinforces, extends or enriches current learning.

Year Task
Year 3 •  Daily reading for around 15 minutes.
•  Weekly Spellings sent home Friday tested following Friday.
•  Maths task.
•  Reading Comprehension.
Year 4 •  Daily reading around 20 minutes.
Weekly Spellings sent home.
•  Friday tested following Friday.
•  Maths task.
•  Reading Comprehension.
Year 5 •  Daily reading around 30 minutes Weekly Spellings sent home.
•  Friday tested following Friday.
•  Maths task.
•  Reading Comprehension.
Year 6 •  Daily reading 45 minutes Weekly Spellings sent home Friday tested following Friday.
•  Maths task.
•  Reading Comprehension.
•  Revision each evening, 15 minutes.
Additional / Ongoing •  Education City activities set by Class Teacher.

What do I do if I have a query?

If your child has a problem completing homework or you have any questions, please call in and see the class teacher. We will do all we can to help. Your support is vital to your child’s success in developing self-study skills as they move up through the school and onto high school.
